Your Responsibilities
From day to day, sinners are advised to repent and accept Jesus as personal Lord and Saviour. The advice is correct. However, it is incomplete. The responsibilities are as follows:
  1. To repent.

  2. To accept salvation (even Jesus as Lord and Saviour).

  3. To seek and know the Truth.

  4. To know yourself.
    To know life.
    To know the universe.
To know God by seeing Him, working with Him, etc.
To experience and exhibit the qualities of God mentioned in the sacred texts.

  5. To grow in spirit.

  6. To become one with God.

  7. More of Your Responsibilities
Self-knowledge
In several portions of the sacred texts of world religions, it has been made clear that a person can only be set free by self-knowledge, just as Jesus said, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”
The Bible calls attention to this very important duty,

6 Do not look upon me, because I am dark,
(I am ignorant.)
Because the sun has tanned me.
(The light has withdrawn from me.)
My mother's sons were angry with me;
(The ministers of religions have admonished me.)
They made me the keeper of the vineyards,
(They have taught me so many things about God.)
But my own vineyard I have not kept.
(But I have not known myself.)
Song of Solomon 1:6

         Self-knowledge means:
  1. To know, experience and confirm that you are a spirit.

  2. To understand that you are not the flesh. The spirit indwells, wears and drives the body.

  3. To realise that it is the spirit that is the image and likeness of God. Man is a small God. Hence, man is a child of God.

  4. The potentials of God are in man. But it is for every man to activate and use the potentials.

  5. Everybody has free will and free choice. You are free to decide for yourself.

  6. Also, everybody is responsible for his actions. You gain the profits of your actions, and as well bear the losses of your actions.

  7. The spirit is everlasting because it came forth from everlasting Almighty Spirit called The Almighty Father, The Rock of Ages, The Ancient of Days: The Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent.

  8. God is in everybody and with everybody as a friend and companion; even as the self.

  9. By uniting yourself with the Infinite Self, you begin to live and experience the qualities of God.

  10.          Supporting portions of the sacred texts are as follows:

Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. John 14:8-11

“At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.” (At that day means the day you become spiritually mature.) John 14:20

  11. Recognise that God is in your heart waiting for you to find Him. “You seek and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” St. Paul said it clearly, “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” And Apostle Peter prophesied about it saying, “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;” 2 Peter 1:19-20

  12.          David spoke about it:

Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in
(Let the King of Glory become manifest).
Who is this King of glory?
    The LORD strong and mighty,
    The LORD mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O you gates!
    Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in
(Let the King of Glory become manifest).
Who is this King of glory?
    The LORD of hosts,
He is the King of glory.

    Psalms 24:7-10
